Every Christmas season I try to encourage my littles to focus on giving rather than just receiving. With both boys' birthdays in December, it's become a month of perpetual presents, non-stop parties, and wants.
We have so much. I want them to realize that and to give generously.
We've made a tradition of visiting the local firehouse each year with a bag full of gifts to donate for Toys for Tots. For the sake of Santa, we don't go into much detail, but they understand that not all boys and girls get as many nice presents as they do on Christmas morning.
With enough gentle reminders in the toy aisle that what they're choosing is for presents and not for themselves, they did a great job picking toys to gift. :)
As a little extra this year, we brought a homemade card and cookies for the firemen, too. Because we certainly are grateful for all that they do!
Here's a little video from the afternoon. :)
Big thanks to OshKosh B'gosh for a fun partnership over the past few months and congrats to all the gift card winners!

OshKosh B’gosh partnered with bloggers such as me to help promote the OshKosh B’gosh Holiday Network. As part of the program, I received product or gift cards. OshKosh B’gosh believes that consumers and bloggers are free to form their own opinions and share them in their own words, and therefore did not tell me what to purchase or what to say about the products I used. OshKosh B’gosh policies align with WOMMA Ethics Code, FTC guidelines and social media engagement recommendations. The winner of any giveaway in this program will be randomly chosen and gift card fulfillment will be handled by a third party.
