glittered pine cones and teacher gifts

By now everyone knows just how much I love putting together boxes full of goodies to gift.  Here's a little peek at what I put together for the boys' teachers as Christmas gifts.

Glittering the pine cones is as simple as it looks...my preschooler did most of the work.  Just partially dip each pine cone in some sort of glue {I had to stop and make mine in two batches...I used Mod Podge and Martha's decoupage finish} and then sprinkle them with fine glitter.

I like the look of just a hint of glitter, but if you like them all blingy, go crazy and coat those bad boys in more sparkle!

Then the hard part is waiting for them to dry...

If you're wondering about sources...

coffee is Starbucks
chocolate bar is Trader Joe's
mug is Anthropologie
cards are Mara Mi

I tied the boxes in fluffy aqua yarn and red twine and then hot glued the pine cones to the twine...and slipped a Christmas card underneath.  So easy!

And if you are in need of some glitter...or hot glue...or some pine cones...or anything else crafty for that matter!...here's a JoAnn coupon that's good for the month of December.

Merry merry friends!!

the season of giving

This post sponsored by Oshkosh B'gosh.  All opinions are my own.  As always, thanks for reading! xoxo

Every Christmas season I try to encourage my littles to focus on giving rather than just receiving.  With both boys' birthdays in December, it's become a month of perpetual presents, non-stop parties, and wants.  We have so much.  I want them to realize that and to give generously.

We've made a tradition of visiting the local firehouse each year with a bag full of gifts to donate for Toys for Tots.  For the sake of Santa, we don't go into much detail, but they understand that not all boys and girls get as many nice presents as they do on Christmas morning.

With enough gentle reminders in the toy aisle that what they're choosing is for presents and not for themselves, they did a great job picking toys to gift.  :)

As a little extra this year, we brought a homemade card and cookies for the firemen, too.  Because we certainly are grateful for all that they do!

Here's a little video from the afternoon. :)

Big thanks to OshKosh B'gosh for a fun partnership over the past few months and congrats to all the gift card winners!

December gifting

This post sponsored by Oshkosh B'gosh.  All opinions are my own.  As always, thanks for reading! xoxo

It’s the most wonderful time of the year…Christmastime! And when you’re searching for great gifts, OshKosh B’gosh is your destination!  So as I wrap up my holiday partnership with Oshkosh B'gosh, I want to share some of my favorite gift ideas...as well as give away a final $50 gift card!

Some of my favorite items to gift to my littles are the fun pieces that I know they'll get a kick out of just because they're from Santa.  Jammies, hats, mittens....they're just so much cooler not coming from Mom. ;)

Some of my other favorites to gift to friends and cousins are the fun holiday items...hello graphic kids' tees!

found here

And of course...when you're gifting, you can never go wrong with basics like kids' denim.

So now for the giveaway...all you need to do is leave a comment answering the question:

What holiday gifts will you give the OshKosh kids on your list?

Giveaway will end Friday, December 13th.  Good luck!!

Don't forget you can shop Oshkosh B'gosh online here or search for a local store here.
