bits of kindness.

This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group™ and Project 7 but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #chewforchange  http://cmp.ly/3/8vNxcO
As always, thanks for reading! xoxo

Ever since I saw the beautiful way that Amanda celebrated her 30th birthday, I've wanted to do something like it myself.  A couple of weeks ago I celebrated...ahem...the second anniversary of my 30th birthday...  So in honor of that milestone, I spent the past weekend trying to spread a few tiny acts of kindness.

Now I'm not the kind of girl that can do big, world changing things right now...  But I can do little things to brighten someone's day.  I adore pretty packages, so I dolled up some packs of gum and started spreading the love.

in case you're wondering what I used...kraft bags and aqua fabric scraps leftover from our last birthday party, doilies, pink twine, pink crinkle paper, and hearts punched from glittery cardstock...tags printed on my home printer directly onto white cardstock...Project 7 gum from Meijer

Have you already heard of the Project 7 gum I used??  That's a company that IS doing big things right now...and I just love the idea behind their "products for good."  Every purchase made of one of their products goes to help in one of seven areas of need...Feeding the Hungry, Healing the Sick, Hoping for Peace, Housing the Homeless, Quenching the Thirsty, Saving the Earth, and Teaching them Well.

I mean.
Come on.
Could there be a better choice for my little giving experiment?!

Baby Sister and I just went about our usual routine and dropped off packages of gum wherever it seemed like a good idea...park bench, grocery store, hardware store pumpkin bin, self checkout, gas pump...

I'll have to do it again with her when she's a bit older and more patient because I'd love to lurk for a few moments to see the looks on people's faces.  2 is not an age of patience and hanging around without a purpose!!

I also thought it would be nice to continue spreading the love in a non-anonymous way, too.

So I headed back to Meijer and made a dinner for my sweet grandpa to enjoy...he's a meat and potatoes kind of guy, so meatloaf {my fave recipe here}, mashed potatoes, peas and a couple of cupcakes in jars.

It's not the most photogenic meal, so I had fun prettying it up, too.  Another simple way to show I care. :)

This was the first time I did anything like this...and now I know it won't be the last.
I'm hooked!

Have you ever spent a day spreading random acts of kindness?
Link it in the comments...I'd love to get more ideas!!

  3. How fun! It's not totally random, but every Christmas Eve on our way to church we take a batch of Christmas cookies to the firefighters down the street. It's a nice reminder for our whole family that not everyone gets to be home with family during the holidays. My girls talk about it all year. We really should do more things like that more often.
