KCWC day 5: swing coat

This post is all kinds of silly since KCWC was last week and this jacket is only about 90% complete with its unhemmed sleeves and missing tie.

But oh well. :)

Swing coat pattern from Heidi&Finn.  Sweatshirt fleece and pink gingham shirting fabric both from JoAnn's.

My bobbin and I are back on speaking terms after the weekend, so I'll finish up my last two sewing days this week.

See what else I made:

KCWC day 4: onesie t-shirt dress

I went to bed early so this is the sum of day 4's sewing.

This has got to be the easiest dress in the history of dresses.   I loved these dresses in the Mini Boden catalog, but they're so DIY-able.

So onesie + 1/4 yd. fabric = t-shirt dress.  A lot has changed since my last onesie refashion. :)

KCWC day 3: sweet little dress

I had to give the Leila & Ben sweet little dress another shot.

I ditched the directions, used my serger, and finished in just over an hour.

I now love this pattern. :)

Fabric is a gauzy cotton from JoAnn's.

KCWC day 2: diaper covers and pattern pieces

Again, I opted for quick and easy.

I used Dana's diaper cover pattern.

The white ones are made from a thrifted eyelet shower curtain.

The pink gingham ones are leftover from this dress.  Another free project = awesome.

I also got a jump on my ambitious project of this adorable little coat and traced the pattern pieces onto freezer paper for tomorrow.

KCWC day 1: shirred gingham dress

After a full weekend of birthday parties, an engagement party, and just staying up too late, this quickie smocked sundress was all I had in me today to sew for KCWC.

Super simple, super fast.  I love how it turned out.

And hopefully I'll find more motivation tomorrow. :)

DIY: Monogram button art

This is a project for the boys' room that I've been meaning to do for a while.

I always love a little more rainbow happy in the house.

So today I finally pulled out my glue gun and buttons and spent the 20 minutes it took to make it.

I traced a wooden letter  onto a piece of tag board as a template, but enlarging a letter from any simple word processing font would work as well.

See, even Woody likes it.  Yee haw!

Are you in? KCWC

I've been adding to my stash of fabrics and patterns in anticipation of KCWC for weeks now.

Girl sewing!  Yay!

My wish to-do list:

a few pairs of leggings
one or two more of these dresses
a few pairs of bloomers
this jacket for the fall
plus I'll make a few pairs of simple elastic waist pants and skirts, maybe a sundress, but no real pattern for those

Are you participating?  What are you making??

S'meeps

Peeps + S'mores = S'meeps.  I'm clever, no?

I've been waiting to try these since I saw them floating around the blog world last Easter.  And now that we are armed with more leftover candy than I know what to do with, we made a few s'meeps and enjoyed the sticky mess in the backyard.

Easter tradition

This may be a little late to share, but I always enjoying looking back at our egg coloring pictures.

If you'd like, see what we did last year and the year before.
