thrifty

They say every cloud has a silver lining.
The boys are at school.
Sniff.
Sister and I get time alone.
Yay!

So after she finished her obligatory Lego destruction (brothers need not be present for that to be fun), we made a trip to the thrift.

We did find some treasures.

A milkglass bowl, a few China saucers, an aqua dish I just liked.

This little shelf thingy.  I plan to revamp it into something cute and girly for the baby's room.

I bought these for the frames to repaint, but now that I've been looking at them they're starting to look...so bad they're good?

This project might just be worth a try.

A Pyrex pattern I'd never seen before (butterfly gold, I think??) and Fiestaware mugs.

And I didn't take separate pics, but the scale and glass dome.
I don't know what I plan on doing with the scale just yet, since I have the identical one in yellow on our kitchen counter already.
The dome is perfect for a sweet little detail atop a cake stand.

All in all, not bad for around 20 bucks.

I didn't realize that it's been such a long time since I've been a regular thrifter!  It's good to be back.  :)

  1. Yup, it's ButterFly Gold. It's a Corelle/Pyrex pattern from the 70s. The only reason I know this is those are the dishes my family used when I was growing up... and we still use today.

  2. Good finds! I like the yellow frames as well as the paintings! I think in the right setting they'd look super sweet.

  3. My mom & grandmother used the same pattern of dishes for years!
