DIY: rainbow dish towels

I love a little bit of rainbow in the kitchen.
It just makes me happy.

So instead of sorting and pricing junk treasures for our yard sale this weekend, I did a quick makeover to a couple of flour sack towels.

All you need is a rainbow of thread and bobbins and towels.  I bought a package of several towels at Target.

Set your machine's stitch to a triple stitch (which usually looks like 3 horizontal lines on the stitch panel) so the lines are more pronounced.

Then use the edge of your presser foot as a guide and sew straight lines across your towels until you have a rainbow.

Happy towels.

  24. I'm going to use polyester thread when I make these, so I can bleach the towels, and the rainbows won't disappear. This is such a cute idea!

  30. I am truly smitten with these rainbow towels. They must go perfectly with your rainbow heart apron made from IKEA fabric (which I also have but have not used). I now know what it might need to become. :-)
