Happy Paczki Day!
My husband and I are both of Polish descent, so Fat Tuesday is known as Paczki Day in our family.
Like jelly doughnuts, only better, we spent the day stuffing our faces with them. Chicago has a huge Polish population, so there's no shortage of authentic bakeries filled with every variety. (I chose strawberry filled this year!)
And tomorrow is the start of Lent, so along with waving bye bye to my beloved candy for the next 40 days, I'm revisiting last year's 40 bags in 40 days challenge. I've got a fresh box of Hefty bags and I'm itching to purge. I can't wait!! :)

ReplyDeleteI didn´t know you were from Chicago - I LOVE the city! Was there just last September and had a super great time, posted a bunch of pics (under the label "Travel") if you´d like to see them sometime. :-)
I know a lot of swedes was immigrating to Chicago once, maybe that´s why I feel so at home. :-)
