Oh yes I did

buy 40 vintage sheets and pillowcases yesterday.  This is only a portion of them.  The rest are still soaking.

So sorry to everyone else in the Chicagoland area.  They're all mine! :)

Happy Friday!

  3. Oh I'm jealous! I always check out the linen section at my local thrift store, there are NEVER any vintage sheets! I bet you were giddy. I would have been!

  7. WOW. We are all wondering how you came by all those. And I am wondering what you do to wash them -- do you soak and handwash, or are you soaking in the machine before running it? I am lucky enough to find a good many vintage sheets at my local thrift store, but I always just bring them home and run them through a hot cycle. Is that bad??

  8. oh, P.S. Please let us know what you do with them. I am always looking for good sheet projects, but lack creativity.

  13. Jenny...I soak them in hot water and vinegar in my washing machine for a few hours. Then I wash them in hot with detergent and bleach.

I heart vintage linens. I do not heart vintage linen smells! :)

  14. Cheryl, you are so lucky. Apprently you know where to shop. We just moved from the Chicagoland area to Louisiana. When we lived there I never found great thrifted sheets like the stash you have in that pic. Looking forward to seeing what you make with them.

  20. Hi Cheryl! I was hoping that you could tell me what you soak your sheets in. I've been collecting vintage sheets and I wash them in the washer in hot water but there is still an interesting odor. Oh and yes, I'm a wee bit jealous of your purchase! :)
