Gifting
We had a fun weekend filled with birthday parties and handmade gifts.

A tote bag for my sister, made from a super preppy madras and lined in yellow:
And for our next door neighbor who turned one, a crayon roll and applique puppy shirt:
We certainly enjoyed the parties...I hope everyone enjoyed their gifts!
And for the record, it was also my dad's birthday, but he got a stack of books...nothing handmade. I need to find some manly handmade gift ideas because I just don't think an applique tshirt would work for him. ;)
ps. Hop on over to Cat's blog to see me interviewed today!
The bag you made for your sister is of the same material that I made into a dress for me. :) I love how happy and preppy it is! :) The gifts are all lovely!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing all of these ideas. I always feel like the gifts I make aren't "real gifts" because they are homemade. I use them as thoughtful little presents but then go out and spend an arm and a leg on a real present.
ReplyDeleteThanks for reminding me that when you put your heart into making something, it is REAL.

The binding on the lap quilt looks really nice. It really brings it together. Is that tote bag as enormous as it looks?! I love it.
