A haircut and something to do with all those baby food jars

So now that I've gotten over the trauma of my little guy's first haircut, I need a special way to save those precious little locks. It's sort of a message in a bottle.

I mod-podged a baby food jar with pretty, little boy-ish scrapbook paper.

I popped in my message and those precious first locks of hair.

First haircut today, going off to college tomorrow. *Sigh.*

And since it's been confirmed that I'm a complete pack rat, it's probably no surprise that I have a box full of empty baby food jars. I've never had any really good ideas of what to do with them, but they seem like they just have too much potential to throw out. Hopefully there'll be more projects to come!

  1. Aww this is so sweet. I should have saved some of those jars for my boys baby teeth. Right now they are tucked in the bottom of my dresser drawer in ziplock bags:)

Thanks for stopping by my blog!

  2. THAT is SO smart!!! Wow, when I finally give in and cut the curls, I'm going to do just that! And I've already technically had his hair cut (his bangs) so his baby book has some hair taped down.

My mom put my hair in an envelope - and she saved, like, all of it. She gave it to me. I saved a few locks.

I'm sort of an anti-Martha, but will follow your blog and try out some of your ideas, since they are too cute to pass up. Wish me luck!
